Rev. Spencer T. Clayton, Ph.D.

Senior Pastor

Rev. Spencer T. Clayton was licensed to preach at Star of Hope Baptist Church in Philadelphia on August 7, 2004. He was subsequently ordained at Star of Hope on December 13, 2009. Spencer has a B.A. in Psychology from Yale College, a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. When his cousin, Rev. George Nelson announced his call to plant Your Will Christian Ministries, Spencer agreed to work along side his cousin as Executive Pastor. On April 1, 2020, Spencer became the Senior Pastor of Your Will Christian Ministries. Then, on January 8, 2023, Spencer launched Pivot Point Gathering and the leadership of Your Will Christian Ministries agreed to merge with the new ministry.

On July 14, 2018, Spencer married Tia Burroughs. Together they host the Not Your Black Friends Podcast. They reside in the Philadelphia area with their son Sawyer and their cat Ollie.
